আজকের Agenda, a flagship policy conversation series of the Power and Participation Research Centre (PPRC), convened on 22 September 2025 with an episode titled “Unpacking the Mood at the Household Level.” Initiated in 2020 under the leadership of Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, Executive Chairman of PPRC, the series seeks to broaden policy discourse beyond formal policy circles by engaging voices from policymakers, academicians, civil society, students, and grassroots actors.
Context
Across Bangladesh, households are quietly adjusting to new economic realities — making difficult decisions on spending, saving, and future plans amid shifting prices, uncertain incomes, and fragile opportunities.
PPRC’s latest State of the Real Economy survey sheds light on these dynamics, capturing people’s concerns, aspirations, and sense of optimism at the household level. By unpacking this “mood of the nation,” the study offers vital insights into how everyday struggles and resilience shape broader economic and policy challenges.
Against this backdrop, the September 2025 episode of আজকের Agenda invited policymakers, researchers, and citizens to reflect on what these findings reveal — and how they can inform more inclusive and responsive policy directions for Bangladesh.
